As Mother's Day approaches, I find myself reflecting on the women who shaped me—my mother, my grandmother, and the quiet, powerful rituals they practiced that laid the foundation for how I care for myself and others today.
My mother didn’t make soap—but she made peace. She made room for herself in the world in small but meaningful ways. I remember walking into our bathroom and seeing candles softly flickering, bath salts lining the tub, and incense gently smoking in the corner. That was her space—her time. Even if just for a moment, she’d soak, breathe, and reclaim her calm.
She taught me that self-care wasn’t selfish. It was sacred.
And before her, my grandmother worked magic with her hands. She made soap the old-fashioned way—stirring, blending, waiting. I didn’t realize it then, but she was passing down more than a product.
